Why Rainflower Should Have Gone To The Dark Forest: A Rant

I hated Rainflower SOOO much! At first she seemed to treat Crookedkit and Oakkit as equals, but she pretty much was disgusted by Crookedkit after he broke his jaw. Crookedkit tried his entire life to please his mother, but she did nothing other than neglect him and constantly hurt his feelings. 

Every queen should love their kits equally, and at least make an effort to take care of them, but Rainflower did the opposite. She hated Crookedstar for no reason other than that he was disfigured. Oakheart was notably handsome in the series, as it is stated multiple times, and she didn't hide the fact she favored him over Crookedstar. Even Oakheart himself didn't like how she treated him way better than his brother, and simply wanted to have her love both of them.

Rainflower seemed to base cats on looks, especially her son. It even got to the point where her mate, Shellheart, decided not to be her mate anymore because he thought she was too cruel to their son.

It was Rainflower's idea to change Crookedstar's name (he was originally Stormkit), and she seemed careless that it was harsh. Crookedstar even tried to agree with his mother, but she pretty much just shunned him her entire life. 

She blames Crookedstar for his accident his entire life, and just constantly neglects him. Even at Oakheart's WARRIOR ceremony she says Crookedpaw would never be as good as him! And even when they're born, she just admires that they're good looking. Sure every queen does, but I think Rainflower actually mostly cares about looks.

After Crookedkit's injury, she makes him have his own nest because she says he'll fidget too much and disturb Oakkit. He feels left out and neglected. She arranges for their father, Shellheart, to train Oakpaw, and proceeds to rub it in Crookedkit's face that only the strongest apprentice can be trained by the strongest warrior. Shellheart even offers for her to teach Crookedkit a few moves but she just says he's too small, despite actually not being too small.

She didn't even appear in Crookedstar's leader ceremony! 

I think she should've gone to the Dark Forest. She was vicious in the way she neglected Crookedstar, and neither Oakheart nor Shellheart approved of her cruelty and favoritism. She was just so mean and cruel, and she even held the grudge against her son (which she had just because he was disfigured) after she died. 

I think she should've gone to the Dark Forest, especially since she still harbored hard feelings about her son being disfigured.
