The Clans

The Clans were originally founded by five leaders: Thunderstar, Shadowstar, Windstar, Riverstar, and Skystar. They were originally just groups of wild cats fighting to survive, but after a huge battle the ancestors of these cats stepped in, deciding they must stop the cycle of violence once and for all. Eventually the spirit cats helped the leaders establish rules and guidelines, preventing unnecessary death and violence as much as they could.  These Clans are known as: ThunderClan, ShadowClan, WindClan, RiverClan, and SkyClan.

SkyClan had been driven from the forest for a long time after twolegs invaded their territory. They were unable to get help from the other Clans and were forced to leave, and for many moons the other four Clans forgot about their existence, believing their to be only four Clans in the forest. 

Each Clan is known for their own unique traits, although they all share the same customs. Each Clan has a leader, deputy, medicine cat, warriors, apprentices, queens, and elders. 

Each Clan leader is responsible for taking care of his or her Clan, making tough decisions to make sure their Clan makes it through the harsh trials of living in the wild.
